Veteran Navajo Artisan-JOHN (J.) NELSON-Gorgeous Green/Chocolate Brown-Natural Sonoran Gold Turquoise Sterling Cuff -For Large 7.25" Wrist
ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Originating from the iconic Route 66 landmark town of Winslow, Arizona, John and his family later made a significant move to Albuquerque, where he then attended Albuquerque’s Indian School. Fortunately for us, his attendance at this school proved to be a turning point in his life, as it is here that he was first inspired to pursue a career as a metalsmith. This inspiration came after meeting a talented friend at the school who generously taught him the intricate ropes of silversmithing. You might say that the rest is history!
John has now been honing his craft for over 50 years, and the impeccable workmanship you will receive from this esteemed Veteran Navajo artist is something that cannot be acquired in just a few months. It takes years of dedicated, repetitious work to reach the extraordinary level of expertise he possesses today. He is a traditional Navajo artist who remains deeply connected to his ancestral roots, and you will see this profound influence reflected in every single piece he creates.
SIZING:
Sized for a man OR woman, this cuff is made for a larger size wrist that’s a bit more "fleshy" & needs a wider gap opening to put it over the thickness of a fleshier arm. (1-1/4" gap) Because of the 10 gauge sterling John used, this would not be the easiest to adjust, but if you know how to adjust a cuff (without popping the stone or weakening the integrity of the sterling,) & feel confident enough to open the gap up a bit more, this can possibly be done. If you don't know how to do this, then I would take it to a reputable jeweler. But just know, by opening up the gap so it can then go over the arm, is the only thing that can be adjusted.. It does NOT change the 6" interior. It does help to know your wrist size & what gap your arm needs before purchasing, since cuffs fit different than any other type bracelet, so it is important they fit right!

PRICING IS BASED ON: You are paying for the name of the Artist & his reputation, the sterling cost at time of purchase, the artist’s time, the turquoise quality, the cost per carat for this type of quality, as well as for the amount of carats , which are all reflected in price
