ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Considered a veteran "Master Navajo Artist" that has been at this now for decades, Delbert is the artist that has taught & helped pave the careers for many of today's traditional Navajo Gallup jewelers that you find on the market..In other words, Delbert is the 'go-to" guy & the one they look up to when they need technique/inspiration.

His work is beyond extraordinary & stays true to his Navajo roots by staying undeniably, traditional. He is 'old school' for the fact that each & everything that goes into his intricate metal work is completely hand fabricated. He believes that the stamp work is what helps to make a great piece & he takes inspiration from stamped patterned designs from the old masters of the past.

Jewelers that started back in the era he had,it was important to use only natural, premium stones for their jewelry & with so many mines now closed down,it's hard for someone who came out of that era to settle for anything less, especially when you have your name on it..

How Delbert works,is by 1st hand picking his stones & then lets the stone dictate the design..He never knows what he is going to make until the stone starts to 'speak' to him & then builds around it with the heaviest gauge sterling & incorporating the most incredible ornate, embellished applique work you'll see.One thing you will NEVER get from this artist,is a poorly made piece of jewelry with low grade, stabilized turquoise.

DESCRIPTION:
Using a beautifully beveled-high dome cut of natural Pilot Mountain turquoise for the 'star of the show', Delbert worked his expertise in order to beautifully showcase the stone.
The stone sits in a hand made serrated bezel that is then wrapped with twisted wire & is proudly displayed on a tapered shank that has 1/4 moon appliques on the sides that are placed atop of a tooled shank with 'Arrow's" on both sides of the ring...The arrows are not just there only for looks, but rather are there to "protect' the wearer..

**I do want to say that if you want to consider sizing this, just be sure that the jeweler knows how to work with these serrated bezels. When you get out of the southwest, many jewelers don't know how to work with these types of bezels & by removing the stone in order to solder, the teeth of the bezel could get damaged. I suggest you show the jeweler a picture of the ring before you consider buying it or using a "Laser" jeweler who would not have to remove the stone in order to resize, since no heat is used.**

**Artist, sterling cost, time, the stone's quality & the cost per carat for this type of quality turquoise are all reflected in price**
