A PERSONAL WORD:
Many of us seek out just about anything that has Federico's name attached, but many aren't aware of the vast knowledge that he carry’s with him when it comes to anything having to do with not only the ancient civilization of Mexico,(With the focus on Oaxaca) but also the historical movement of jewelry designs that came into Mexico by way of the Moors/Spain. There's not much he can't tell you & has been an avid collector of Mayan/Aztec/Pre-Columbian/Colonial antiquities since having been a child.
Owning Museum in Oaxaca,("Museo Belber Jimenez") it's pieces such as this ancient Mayan face in this ring, are housed (plus SO much more!).This is the beauty of his jewelry, where he can give you the most drop dead gorgeous southwestern jewelry & then turn around & incorporate Meso-American archaeological artifacts into genre's of jewelry! This ring is THE perfect example of what I'm referring to!

THE JADE & THE MAYANS:
Modern day Guatemala, (which was once ruled by the Mayans) are actually one of the highest producers of jade in the world.. This spiritual stone was incredibly important to the Mayans, taking on a very religious significance & depending on your status, one was covered in jewelry made of Jade. The stone's green color lent it to associations with water and vegetation, and it was symbolically associated with life and death in the eyes of the Mayans.

THE RING:
Pairing 2 time periods together, this is made with the ancient old Mayan figure, but put together in present day.. The jade figure is in PERFECT condition as it sits raised above a high bezel that is centered atop of a 1-1/2" wide tapered heavy gauge shank. The sterling shank is finished in a contemporary/mirror polished finishing.
This is not adjustable, but if you need to go a 1/2 of size to 1 size smaller, there are ways to bring this down without the cost of a jeweler. (Email me) Depending on your ring size, this can also be worn by a woman OR man & will look wonderful as a middle finger ring, as it will for the ring finger!
