This very visual Kachina Maiden is made with a "Sampler" selection of all natural, chunky size Nevada turquoise that come in non-uniform various cuts.No, they are not meant to be matching perfect in size or cut & this is what adds to it's funky & fabulous charm!! Unless the piece is from the Sleeping Beauty mine,Federico is known for creating pieces that come with ultimate contrast & this piece definitely doesn't take back seat when it comes to that! The beauty of using a sampler pick is for the fact that for one,gives you THE best contrasts of color through out & 2,you get a turquoise sample of the beautiful rocks that our USA mines produce! Also they're great to pair with either your blue OR green pieces!Most of the more popular Nevada mines were used in this pendant & are mainly from the Royston,Pilot Mountain,Fox mines.

Made in a statuesque 5-3/4" length,the Kachina's headdress is made up of some intense deep green oval/round cuts that follow the form of the face,while the arms are made up of chunky sized cuts of a gorgeous cut of blue Royston & green Fox turquoise.The body is Pilot Mountain & Royston. All of the turquoise is natural,which adds to it's pristine quality.

This is made with a shepherds hook,which normally would hook OVER the beads,but the way this was made,there is not a wide opening to do so, unless the buyer opens it up some to do that.The beads I photographed it with are a 10.5 mm bead & without messing with the hook,I threaded them through the hole of the shepherds hook.To open it up more,I would take needle nose pliers & while going slow & easy,you would do this on the curve of the hook,that is right below where the beads would sit.** If I can suggest, that because of it's large size,the Kachina would look better when brought down from the neckline, with at least a 26" or longer beaded necklace.(Shown with a 28") This size does not look good when worn on a 18" or 20" necklace.

Because the turquoise is like a fingerprint, makes this a "One of a Kind" piece!!!
