THE NECKLACE:

Designed in Federico’s “Signature” style, where he never settled for a single strand, nor did he stop at 10 either! But kept going to create this over-the-top, lengthy 20-strand statement necklace that has the most extraordinary color, which one would expect, since it was sourced at the none other, now-closed Sleeping Beauty mine in Arizona, making it a rare and unforgettable collector’s piece..

Made with roughly 1,389 carats of incredibly colored natural vivid blue Sleeping Beauty turquoise, this necklace came from Federico’s own “Private/Personal” collection.. The turquoise was purchased more than some 40 years ago, at the same time it was made.

Each bead is remarkably uniform in both shape and size, contributing to the piece’s top‑notch, pristine appearance. In this business when you have these perfectly calibrated, smooth round cut beads, they will always command a substantial premium price over raw freeform nuggets, since turning rough natural turquoise into these little round cuts, one would expect to lose as much as 60% of the starting material just from cutting.(Reflected in price) The necklace was made in an exceptionally long 38″ length, and each bead is very small—measuring just 3.7 mm—further enhancing its refined, elegant character.

The beads are strung on a durable double cord, which provides the strands with added strength and stability. The necklace is finished with 2-3/4” long sterling cones, which also serve as the location of Federico’s hallmark.
