Mary gives us all the tradition that comes from ancient Pueblo techniques,but with a 21st century funky modern day look!

Soaring in popularity,Mary is at the top of the list as one of the Pueblo's most sought after artists & when you see her work,you can understand why! Her work is whimsical,abstract & fun & is designed with a colorful array of hand cut stones & shells that are all then hand mosaic inlaid.

Mary's designs can leave you guessing as to 'what is this" (?),but like with any art,it's all in how you see it being! The colorful pendant drop looks like a abstract "Kachina Maiden",so that's the name I've given it..The facial area is depicted with cuts of Kingman turquoise & a pressed mix of Spiny Oyster,turquoise & copper that act as the headdress,while the circle inside the face is Cowrie shell.The body is made up with a outline of Kingman turquoise,while the center has a channel mosaic inlay of an array of various colored stones & shell,that are laid in a ladder form.The pendant is non-removable & the foxtail is threaded through the upper portion.

The beaded necklace is all hand cut & because of Mary's 'High in Demand" popularity & the inability at times to do everything completely by herself in order to get orders out,sometimes she has to call on her Award winner husband Lorenzo who is a master cutter (As well as a gold/silversmith!) & cuts the beads/heishi for her into precise disks.He then hand drills each & every bead.. Lorenzo validates how skilled he is at this,based on if you run your hands down the strands,there are no rough edges & is nice & smooth which shows skill & experience!

This is not over the top when it comes to Southwest jewelry,,but has enough of a look to be worn by practically any age! Would make a wonderful gift!
