A PERSONAL WORD:
When I’m out scouting for jewelry, I’m always on the lookout for a piece that truly intrigues and impresses me—not just for its design, but for the impeccable workmanship behind it. With a designer/jeweler background myself, I especially appreciate pieces that reveal an artist’s hours of dedicated work, the kind of creation that can’t be finished in just a few hours or even a couple of days. In other words, work that only a master could produce, which the level beginners haven’t reached yet. THIS is that piece.
There were only two other architecturally designed necklaces by Federico that I’ve stocked before, and this is the third — a piece that clearly tells you how long the artisan has been at it and that required a mathematical, architectural, analytical, genius-type mind to conceive, not to omit a great “eye for detail” . If you ask me, I’d say It belongs in a publication like Architectural Digest -Jewelry Design Magazine or maybe in Tiffany’s! It’s one of those rare pieces that makes you stop and ask yourself again and again, “How in the heck did they make this???”
DESCRIPTION:
To appreciate a necklace made at this remarkable caliber, you have to not only appreciate the obvious month's that it took to make, but to hand pick all the 4 mm round Amethyst that match in size.
Super sophisticated and over-the-top classy, this piece is designed in an elegant ‘link’ style where each sterling link component is painstakingly made from scratch. Some links feature a single cut of amethyst facing one direction, while others contain two cuts that are visible from both sides. Each link interlocks with the next, allowing the amethyst to display continuously around the full diameter of the necklace.(Especially see photos 5,6,7,8)
Although it only measures roughly 14 mm (just over 1/2”) round in diameter (I measured where there are two amethyst on a link, which is the widest point), there is nonetheless a substantial amount of sterling silver in this piece that brings the total weight to just under ¾ POUND!!!! !!!. For its skinnier size, it carries noticeable heft, so please keep that considerable weight in mind when purchasing!
WEARABLE OPTIONS:
You can wear it as is so there’s nothing to distract from it, but if you like, you can always add an all-sterling pendant or even an amethyst pendant. Just be sure the pendant has a large enough bale opening to thread through the diameter of the necklace. I recommend a bale with at least a 15 mm — preferably 16 mm opening or greater (about 5/8” opening or larger). From a professional standpoint, because the necklace measures just over 31” in length, I would choose a larger pendant; something around 2” tall could easily get lost that far down the chest, so a more substantial piece will show better. Ultimately it’s your choice. Finally, if you are petite, some of you may even be able to double the necklace for a two-strand look that will sit nicely at the neck.
This is contemporary in style while having a "Upscale Southwestern" aesthetic that can be worn literally anywhere in the world..Although Federico is pretty much known throughout the southwest, this is one of those pieces where you won’t feel like you have to add other southwestern pieces to wear it!
Literally a MASTERPIECE of Architectural Metal Art! You really won’t witness how impressive this design is until you get this in hand!
PLEASE NOTE WHAT PRICING IS BASED ON
With the gold and silver markets literally being out of control & at an all time high, while increasing on a daily basis, the rising cost is directly reflected in what artists now must pay per gram or ounce for the metal. So if you’re wondering about the higher prices across the internet & in every gallery, this is the reason!
Factored into the price for this necklace is the artist’s name and reputation, the number of carats and the cost per carat. Also included is the need to compensate the artisan (And or staff) for the time and expertise required to create the piece. These are just some of the elements that together explain and contribute to the higher final price of this necklace.

PLEASE READ BEFORE PURCHASING:
I do not consider myself a 'professional photographer" but I do try my hardest to give you photos that are 'realistic" in color, just so you're not shocked, nor disappointed when you get the piece. But please realize that all monitors are different, so the materials can look more vivid (or duller) from one computer to the next.
To give you close up photos, pictures tend to make the item look much more larger & everything is more magnified than in actuality. Close up photos make the item look so large & then you get it in hand & you are shocked since the item is much smaller than how they looked in the photos..So to get an accurate idea of how big this is, please either check it out being worn to get a rough idea (see mannequin photos) or you can pull out a tape measure & compare to my given measurements. Please go over all the “Specifics” as well!
