This ultra fabulous butterfly necklace is literally a piece of art that stands appreciation for the numerous hours that went into making it! Made in a 5 panel butterfly design where the wings are all hand carved of orange spiny oyster shell thats bright & cheerful! It's a color that would look great in the summer month's,while brightening up a dreary day in the winter!
The abdomen,eyes,antennas of the butterfly are precisely mosaic inlaid with Sleeping Beauty turquoise,Orange Spiny Oyster shell & black Onyx.This technique is truly time consuming & really takes skill with someone who knows what they're doing,when you figure that each piece has to be cut perfectly to ensure the balance & form are just right as they lay in their mosaic channel inlaid form...The design is finalized with what looks like leaves & are also hand carved.
This sits high on the neck where the viewers eye will quickly go to & follows the neckline beautifully! The closure is a push in tongue clasp & has a wearable weight without hurting the neck(See weight bellow) & folds up easy for travel.
