Delicate in design but one that speaks beautifully on the neckline, this is a true vintage Zuni Puebloan necklace made by "M.H. Vacit"..The necklace consists of 8 panels & is designed in a "V" shape cluster design that represent "Rain Clouds", which are of great importance to the people of Zuni, since they need the rain to feed the corn crops. These are seen in the scalloped shape cut wires that lay on the same sheet below the turquoise.

This was made back in the day when using natural turquoise was all there was available & you can see this by the 'color change' in some of the stones that happens with natural turquoise over time & because of body oils.(Stabilized turquoise maintains it's color & doesn't change) And with Zuni cluster work,it makes the piece that much more beautiful because now, you have contrast. The stones are super tiny (2 mm) & sit in hand made serrated bezels.

Veering up the neckline is a hand made chain that also works as an extender & you could put the hook anywhere within the chain! If this may be too short & you need it a tad longer,you can easily add an extender,based on the closure it has. Has a beautiful naturally developed patina!

If you love Zuni vintage (As I do!!) & can't wear anything heavy, you will love the weight of this! It's very light in weight,while giving you a historical look of the past!
