A PERSONAL WORD:

Federico sits at the top of the industry as one of the most daring, fiercely bold, and fearless designers the 21st century has come to know. Having carried his jewelry for many years now, there’s very little I haven’t seen — from inventive designs and unexpected material choices to remarkable variations in scale size. His name is synonymous with large, often massively HUGE statement pieces that remain undeniably classy and sophisticated and they’re pieces you simply won’t find elsewhere, nor by any other artist & especially the way he composes each design, is truly distinctive! His designs consistently can literally make people stop dead in their tracks and do a full 360 turn around!

One thing I’ve always been impressed by, is that he instinctually knows which materials complement each other when paired together and he brings a confidence to that choice. That sensibility comes from years of repetitious practice and patient experimentation, something that doesn’t happen overnight, because creating balance and harmony requires a trained eye, steady hands, in order to bring out the beauty of his choice of materials. Pearls and Abalone both play a major role in many of his creations, and there are very few combinations he hasn’t beautifully executed, especially when he chooses to use these God-given aquatic gems, whether set alone or artfully mixed together. THE EARRINGS:

If you want your jewelry to speak for you before you even step out the door and announce your personal style to everyone around you, then these earrings will practically bring traffic to a screeching halt!!! They’re not only among Federico’s largest and most exquisitely designed earrings, but are definite ‘Showstopper/Rockstar” earrings that demand attention and are celebrated for their bold, and unforgettable design!!

Anchored by the most gorgeous, naturally formed baroque pearl tops, these are designed with a massively large 4” x 3” size drop, designed solely to showcase the striking beauty of Baroque pearls and Abalone & just how beautiful they look together! The Abalone displays an abundance of iridescent tones — from vibrant limes and periwinkle lavenders to a deep blue reminiscent of Kashmir sapphire. When the pieces are laid flat or turned in the light, all of these fiery, shifting colors truly come alive. I would describe the base color as a warm taupe. To help protect the abalone from the elements and to enhance its visual depth, each abalone cut appears to have a thin, resin-like coating that adds a subtle, extra protective shine.

They’re made in a cut out design of 2 varied sizes of rectangular cuts of Abalone, where the laid out design of these 2 sized cuts follow the entirety of the earring. A substantial pearl swings from the center, appearing to hang gracefully through an open doorway or window. Smaller pearls are set at each key intersection, adding delicate accents and subtle shimmer throughout the piece. All the material is bezel set atop of a contemporary, mirror polish finished sterling that helps to give them their contemporary appeal..

THE WEIGHT:

Now these, are some of Federico’s HEAVIEST earrings & because of their substantial weight, the wisest choice was to do them in a clip on, since there was no way you could even wear them as a post earring! You wouldn’t have any ear lobes left!! (LOL) They’re actually heavier than some of the larger cuffs, necklaces, and rings we carry, with a combined weight that approaches just under 4 OUNCES. These unfortunately were made after the price of sterling and gold had increased. Not only has Federico’s jewelry had to be increased because of this, but the cost of what artists are now having to pay per carat weight for materials has gone up as well. (Sterling-Shell-Stone) And we all know that depending on the item, Federico as a rule doesn’t use little skimpy stones & the bigger they are, the more they cost. Everyone is having to charge more because of this, which is being passed on to me & then unfortunately passed onto you. It’s factors such as this, that are reflected in the price for these.

Also factored into the price for these, is the artist’s reputable & long standing name in the industry, his reputation and years in the business, the number of carats and the cost per carat for the materials used.. Also included is the need to compensate the artisan (And or staff) for their time and expertise required to create these.
