One thing Federico’s jewelry has the power to do, is literally stop people in their tracks—whether it’s because of the impressive size or the striking color. But beyond those two qualities, his outrageously known designs consistently have a way of commanding/demanding attention so that ALL eyes are solely on you, making sure people in the room know exactly who the star of the show is! THE EARRINGS:
Designed entirely of luminous Abalone that has almost an ‘opal-esque’ coloring, as if a light is deep below, while encouraging all those periwinkle, limes and golds shine at the top!
Made up of five distinct cuts that emulate the traditional Native abstract “Kachina” figure. Vertically and horizontally laid rectangular cuts create its broad, dramatically spanned headdress; a round cut defines its face, while the body is formed by a substantial 1.25” oval cut. Its arms and legs are suggested with irregular, slightly rectangular shapes that give the figure an artisan, dynamic feel.
All these cuts are bezel set atop a substantial amount of sterling silver, which makes one pair (of the two in stock) weigh a combined 3 OUNCES! (The other pair comes in just under at 2.88 OZ.) Due to their considerable weight, making these into posts was absolutely out of the question — you definitely wouldn’t still have earlobes if they were posts! (LOL!)

These unfortunately were made after the price of sterling and gold had increased. Not only has Federico’s jewelry had to be increased because of this, but the cost of what artists are now having to pay per carat weight for materials has gone up as well. (Sterling-Shell-Stone) And we all know that depending on the item, Federico as a rule doesn’t use little skimpy stones & the bigger they are, the more they cost. Everyone is having to charge more because of this, which is being passed on to me & then unfortunately passed onto you. It’s factors such as this, that are reflected in the price for these.
Also factored into the price for these, is the artist’s reputable & long standing name in the industry, his reputation and years in the business, the number of carats and the cost per carat for the materials used.. Also included is the need to compensate the artisan (And or staff) for their time and expertise required to create these.
