THE EARRINGS:
One notable aspect these earrings feature is their color, as well as distinctive character. They are designed using turquoise sourced from two separate mines, located in different geographical regions. Among the four stones incorporated, 3 cuts are Chinese turquoise, while the stone at the top of the earring on the left side in the photos comes from Nevada’s Lone Mountain mine. Both sources provide turquoise with remarkable character, especially the Chinese turquoise, which naturally exhibits striking black matrix patterns. These patterns add a unique and captivating dimension to the cuts, enhancing the overall beauty and individuality of each piece.
Made in a clip style earring, each of the 4 cuts have tonalities that go from blue, to teal blue, to teal green, to a deep teal green ,which only boosts their contrast. They have a simple bezel setting & are finished in a mirror polished finishing.
TAKE NOTE:
The earrings are designed with “Free Form” cuts, (rather than perfectly calibrated) and although not noticeable when they’re on the ear or unless it's pointed out, you’ll notice the earring on the right (Darker green bottom) is shorter by about 1/8 of an inch. The reason is because the tops have more of a free form cut than the bottoms, so the top portion of the one on the right is smaller than the one on the left which makes them a tad different in length(See photo 5)
If you are someone who insists on everything being perfectly symmetrical and even, these earrings might not be the best fit for you. .I do have many evenly sized earrings for you to choose from!! However, this subtle asymmetry is very signature of Federico’s work, where such natural variations often occur. In fact, what was more crucial in the matching process was aligning the character of the stones to highlight their beauty, rather than being perfectly matched in size AND in color..
