Learning from her mother,Zuni Pueblo artisan,Tamara Pinto has taken off in this industry for her own talents & gives us these incredible,life like colorful butterflies that she hands cuts all the stone & shell for, that become pieces of art to wear.

Instead of doing traditional Zuni cluster work,Tamara takes on the other art form known to the Zuni people, by mosaic inlaying her pieces that have a delicate & very feminine feel,along with some incredible workmanship! Tamara impressed the judges when she was honored with a ribbon award at this years "Gallup Inter-Tribal Indian Ceremonial"event,taking home the prize in the "Lapidary" category!

This is a well made necklace/earring set & if you zoom in on the photos you will see how she used precision in cutting each stone & shell with wings that are cut with rippling edges & are mosaic inlaid into their low bezel.Each of the wings are then given texture through her skilled lapidary work. Each wing then has a little round cut of coral & turquoise that is inlaid in the center of the wing.Each thorax is of a different stone/shell.The 3 butterflies hang onto a delicate sterling chain that also acts as an extender.

The earrings are made the same way but with lots shimmer because of the shells used, which includes glistening Abalone shell,pink & yellow shell & accents of turquoise.They are light & wearable & can be worn alone or combined with the necklace.
