PROVENANCE:

This came through my Santa Fe store from a well established & very reputable Santa Fe'an resident. He acquired the set from his father & even though it was appraised back in 2010,the father actually bought them both in the late 1990's.

The set was appraised, as you can see in photos 2 and 3, for a combined "total replacement value" of $14,780.00 (total of both). Even without obtaining a new appraisal, and speaking from my knowledge of the trade, the reality is that this set is worth substantially more today. (This is the reason I am pricing it at it's "appraisal value" since it’s a bargain at that price) That increase reflects not only higher gold prices but also the changing availability of richer-quality tanzanite — those deeper periwinkle tones (described by appraisers as "Strong Purplish Blue") are literally scarce. Most of what you see now tends toward the lighter lavender shades because the more saturated, intensely colored stones are either already in collectors' hands, since it's these heavily saturated deep periwinkle colors like that are in this set, that represent the very best color produced by the mine & command higher prices that can reach into the hundreds of thousands of dollars.

THE SET:

I can't stress enough how beautifully elegant this set is — not only for the deep, gorgeous periwinkle hue the Tanzanite’s display, but also for the way the diamonds add an over-the-top, rainbow-colored sparkle in virtually any lighting, whether soft and low or bright and brilliant.

All of these Tanzanite are some of THE best money can buy! Graded not only for their intense, rich color but also for VVS (Very, Very Slightly Included) and VS (Very Slightly Included) these Tanzanite’s represent a top-tier level of clarity. Because this rare gemstone is graded much like diamonds, stones with VVS or VS clarity are exceptionally clean and transparent, showing no eye-visible flaws and making them especially prized for fine, high-quality jewelry.

In the bracelet alone, there are 360 round cuts measuring 1.5 mm each (totaling 5.40 carats). These stones are I–J in color and grade VS1–VS2 in clarity. What that breaks down to is that these are high-quality diamonds that are "EYE CLEAN," meaning no imperfections are visible to the naked eye. They also present excellent value: while less costly than flawless or internally flawless stones, they still command a much higher price due to their overall quality and desirable visual appearance.

The matching stud earrings are on the smaller side (1/2" x 3/8"), yet still exude that same top-of-the-line, outstanding elegance. Each earring contains a total of 20 diamonds (40 total) and matches the bracelet with J–K color and VS1–VS2 clarity. If you review the earring appraisal (Picture 3), you’ll notice it specifically notes a distinct "right–left" earring based on the design. These are screw-back posts—you twist the back onto the stem—which provides the highest level of security against loss.

This would make one of the most memorable holiday, birthday, wedding, or anniversary gifts—so stunning it’s sure to bring someone to their knees with awe and gratitude! Sorry, only sold as a SET.

YOU HAVE TO REALIZE THAT THIS APPRAISAL WAS DONE IN 2010-SINCE THEN, GOLD HAS GONE UP & TANZANITE HAS BEEN PRETTY MUCH DEPLETED & IS VERY HARD TO COME ACROSS IN THIS RICH PURPLE BLUE COLOR. WHEN YOU CONSIDER THE 'COLOR' OF THE TANZANITE THAT THESE ARE DESIGNED WITH AND THE HIGH QUALITY OF THE DIAMONDS, MY GUESS FOR THIS SET (AND IF IT WAS APPAISED TODAY), COULD EASILY BE IN THE $25,000 AND HIGHER RANGE BECAUSE OF THIS.
