Tenango is a style of embroidery which originated in the Tenango de Doria municipality in the Mexican state of Hidalgo ..It is identified by the colorful & very whimsical style embroidery that consists of birds,butterflies & other insects! The artisans embroider various ‘banded colors’that can run vertically & horizontally.Theirs is a ‘happy’ style’ that can’t help but liven the soul & put a smile on your face!
These deliberately distressed jackets were used as a base for these wonderful Mexican artisans to do their beautiful embroidery work atop of..Each are ‘one of a kind pieces of art’.. Otomi embroidery is one of the most time consuming,but the finished product is worth the time spent!
These run very small & even though the tag says “Large”, please do not go off that,but rather the measurements I provided you with.They are definitely not what we would consider “Large” they are more like a Small to Small/Medium. They do have stretch because of the spandex in the material blend.
