If you follow Native-made jewelry and can recognize which types of work are associated with particular tribal affiliations, you might have thought the same as I did when I first saw these pieces — that they were “Navajo made.” I would never have guessed they were Zuni made, since we usually expect Zuni artisans to produce their exquisite mosaic inlay or the painstaking cluster work they’re famous for. From what I’ve discovered, Lyolita’s pieces tend to align more closely with the Navajo style practiced by her Navajo neighbors than with the traditional Zuni techniques for which the Zuni are known. And really, whatever style an artist feels most comfortable creating, is perfectly valid in my view! I say ”Go for it!”
There are three dominating factors that shape the design: the fat, chunky cuts of gorgeous dark cobalt-blue lapis, the hand-twisted wirework, and the handmade appliqué that rests at the bottom—adding visual interest to the earring while imparting a bit of extra length.
The Lapis sits snug in its serrated bezels, and because Lyolita used a lighter sterling gauge, these are very comfortable and lightweight to wear on the ears. Ideal for everyday use, they can also transition effortlessly into evening wear.
PLEASE NOTE WHAT PRICING IS BASED ON :
With everything literally increasing in price, these were purchased after sterling & gold went off the charts in regards to their price. This rising cost is reflected in what artists have to now pay per gram or ounce for the metal, as well as for their materials, which also have increased! .Artists are now having to charge more because of this, which is being passed on to me, then passed on to the consumer. Also included is the need to compensate the artisan for their time and expertise required to create these.

*****I do not consider myself a 'professional photographer" but I do try my hardest to give you photos that are 'realistic" in color as much as I can. Each monitor varies and also plays a role in how vibrant or less vibrant as something appears.
To give you close up photos, so I can provide you with all the fine detail, pictures can tend to make the item look much more larger & everything is more magnified than in actuality. So to get an accurate idea of how big these are, please view the photo showing them on the ear or you can pull out a tape measure & compare to my given measurements listed above.
