Circa 1990's- Federico Jiménez-Dramatic 4 Tier Pomegranate Color Garnet Cluster-with Sleeping Beauty Accent-Sterling Earrings-From "Ellen Jiménez's" Estate
THE PROVENANCE:
These beautiful earrings once belonged to Ellen Belber-Jimenez, who was the wife of Federico for an incredible 56 years. I am always deeply honored and feel truly privileged to possess anything that once belonged to her, as she so perfectly mirrored her husband’s exquisite tastes. Her collection included some of Federico’s finest and most iconic jewelry designs, showcasing the remarkable artistry and workmanship that defined his work.
Like her husband, Ellen possessed an impressive and profound depth of knowledge when it came to cultural historical timelines, and she could speak expertly and eloquently about each element. She demonstrated remarkable skill, insight, and passion for every subject & was especially connected to Mexico's rich artistic heritage. Her personal collection of belongings was as diverse as they were exquisite, ranging from remarkably designed jewelry that Federico himself designed especially for her—including the elegant earrings featured here—to stunning vintage Native American pieces, rare vintage Taxco jewelry, exquisite vintage Oaxaca gold jewelry, and treasured artifacts from the Colonial era. Additionally, she owned some of the finest Mexican textiles, carefully curated with a particular focus on preserving traditional workmanship. Not only did Ellen possess a profound understanding of the origins, significance, and workmanship behind each item she treasured, but Federico also ensured that she had access only to the very best. Together, they meticulously selected and assembled a collection of unparalleled quality, cultural importance, and historical significance, reflecting a deep commitment to preserving and celebrating Mexico's artistic legacy.
THE EARRINGS:
These lusciously long cluster earrings feature a dramatic four-tier length, beautifully designed with rich pomegranate berry-colored Garnet cabochons. They are perfectly complemented by accenting hues of vibrant Sleeping Beauty turquoise. What truly captivates me is the striking ‘light-dark’ contrast created by pairing these two colored materials together, which adds depth and dimension to the design. By incorporating the bright turquoise, the focus naturally highlights the Garnets, and conversely, the Garnets enhance the vividness of the turquoise, creating a harmonious and eye-catching balance.
These have a generous amount of material, so please pay attention to the weight before purchasing, since I don’t do returns for this reason(Read my policies) It does help to know however what weight your ears love.. So what I suggest, is taking a pair you own that are comfortable & weighing them & then compare that weight to my weights below before purchasing.
