Kewa Pueblo Artisan- WARREN NIETO - Mosaic Inlay -Trapezoid Kingman Turquoise Top with Apple Coral Linear Cuts- Anasazi String Tied Dangles! 3-7/8"

$525.00

When Kewa Pueblo artist Warren Nieto brought these in to me,I have to admit I was floored by not only the striking color combination, but the precision in which these were made!!! Impressively cut with skilled hands, the materials were cut by "Eye & Feel" without the use of calipers to measure & if there were ever a more PERFECTLY made pair of earrings, it's these!

Designed with colors of the southwest, these long & lengthy earrings will no doubt grab some attention!! A master in mosaic, Warren designed these with triangular cuts of Kingman turquoise that are then mosaic inlaid in the center of a trapezoid shaped top, while cuts of turquoise act as the frame.. A cut of orange spiny oyster shell sits raised above the base & adds contrast when placed against the turquoise.

Perfectly measuring 2" long are linear dangles of orange apple coral that are anchored by way of string & which give these a ancient Anasazi feel, where if you zoom in on each photo, you will see how the dangles are connected to the trapezoid top with string.. This style used for connections, was used by the Anasazi in the Chaco Canyon region before modern day sterling jump rings were used & which come from the time period around 900-1300 AD!! The string is tied in a knot on the backside & then burned to secure it.(See backside photo)

Since there is no metal used , contributes to these having a lighter weight & personally aren't bad on the ears..They do have length however, which means there's more materials.(See weights below for you to decide)

These are one of a kind earrings without there being another pair!!!
