THE EARRINGS:
Creatively made by using nothing but the colorful beauty that these 2 shells have, what really stands out with these earrings is something we rarely see with the Spiny Oyster shell & that is how the natural formation of the oyster shell has been cleverly utilized by using the shell’s naturally formed organic “ripples”, which personally, really enhances the visual aesthetics of the entire earring!!
The 1.75” oyster shell drop is anchored by a double abalone top, with a smaller abalone cut nestled inside a larger abalone cut for layered dimension. (See especially the 5th & 6th photos.) Each shell is then securely set in contemporary, mirror-polished sterling silver for a sleek, high-shine finish.
These do have a tad of weight (see weights below), so if your ears aren’t used to carrying any weight, these may not be the best choice. (We do stock lighter-weight earrings, but unfortunately not in this design.) If you shop online frequently, I always suggest knowing the weight limit your ears can tolerate, or even what size cuff you wear or how heavy a necklace your neck can comfortably handle. That knowledge makes it much easier to decide what to pass on and what you can confidently purchase.

Not only has Federico’s prices increased, but the cost of what artists are now having to pay per gram, per ounce for sterling , per carat weight for materials has gone up as well. (Sterling-Shell-Stone) And we all know that Federico doesn’t use little skimpy stones & the bigger they are, the more they cost. All artists are having to charge more because of this, which is being passed on to me & then unfortunately passed onto you. It’s factors such as this, that are reflected in the price for these.
Also factored into the price for these, is the artist’s reputable & long standing name in the industry, his reputation and years in the business, the number of carats and the cost per carat for the materials used.. Also included is the need to compensate the artisan (And or staff) for their time and expertise required to create these.

I find photographing anything with 'yellow' in it, (oranges, greens) can come up more vivid than other colors, & with oranges especially, it picks up all the underlying yellow tones, so please take this into consideration. I would call the color a vibrant ‘orange-orange’ to a vibrant orange/yellow.. So please go through all photos to see ANY variation. Also please realize that all screen monitors are different, so the materials can look brighter (or duller) from one computer to the next.
