TURQUOISE PROVENANCE-ABOUT LARRY COOLEY TURQUOISE:
Many of you that follow me for my incredible Federico collection,may have heard the name Larry Cooley.The late Larry Cooley was known in the industry as the ‘go-to' turquoise vendor that many artists would get all their best/their highest quality turquoise from,so they then would use them for their own jewelry designs...Larry was known for having such a wide collection of high grade/gem quality/premium turquoise out of most in the industry,with much of his collection being mined some 60+ years ago when all the mines were still opened & before they started treating..His collection not only comes natural,but being he knew what separates premium turquoise as opposed to chalky junk turquoise, he didn't collect anything less than the best that was ever mined!
After Larry's passing,Federico was fortunate enough to get Larry's 'limited collection' & put these stones into some of his most incredibly designed pieces you'll ever see & once they're used up,they're gone..(See my Federico necklace,earrings,bracelet,ring listings) Larry had a big reputation for his turquoise & all you had to do was say "Larry Cooley Turquoise" & that alone spoke volume's.

THE EARRINGS:
Yummy AND delicious, these mouthwatering green rocks are just another perfect example of the quality that came from Larry. They are sophisticatedly classy & super chunky!! They are designed with 'free form' cuts (Where there is no specific shape),where the tops have this INCREDIBLE green color & are dominated by a beautiful yellow-ish tan matrix that make them pop with character. The chunky sized bottoms are a rich deep green with hardly any matrix..With these, it wasn't as important for the rocks to be perfectly matched in size, as it was for their color & character to match.
They are a true statement earring, made with a design where the sole focus will be on the turquoise, since after all they are the 'Star of the Show'!
The decision to make them into clips was a wise choice because these are quite heavy! Not only is there a good amount of sterling,but there's a LOT of carat weight in each of these stones as well!! They are set in a contemporary-mirror polished finished sterling.
