Elegantly designed in a very noticeable size, these earrings showcase the unique beauty of naturally formed, irregularly shaped Baroque pearls that form a halo cluster surrounding a highly textured “Biwa” pearl center. The baroques are nice & chunky, which has a lot to do with their 2” tall size.

Each pearl is set into contemporary, mirror-polished sterling silver, creating a sleek, modern contrast that highlights and complements the pearls’ natural luster.

Having worked with Federico for years, he is not one to skimp on his materials, nor on sterling and he definitely gives you some serious proportions for your money. With that said, the pearls don’t weigh much as a rule, but it’s the generous amount of sterling, so they do carry a good amount of heft for their 2” size. (54.2 grams or 1.91 Ounces to be exact, which is close to 1 ounce for each earring.)

Since the weight of these earrings will sit directly on your ear, you’ll want to check the weight first so you don’t end up with something too heavy. Only you know what feels comfortable on your own lobes, so a good approach is to take one of your own earrings that’s nearly at the limit of comfort, weigh it, and compare that weight to the pair you’re considering. But if you do have “veteran” ears, they are definitely worth tolerating the weight!

Unfortunately Federico has had to raise his prices since the price of sterling (& gold) has gone up and fluctuates on a daily basis. Between the price that metal is costing artists, plus the rising cost for materials, there was no other choice but to increase everything.

The pricing is dictated also by Federico’s name and his decades old reputation in the industry. Also included is the need to compensate the artisan (And or staff) for the time and expertise required to make the earrings for Federico. These are just some of the elements that together explain and contribute to the higher final price of these earrings.
