EARRING PROVENANCE:

These came from a long time Santa Fe resident who was downsizing & collected nothing but Native American jewelry. After seeing her collection, it was obvious to me that her eye was well trained when it came to jewelry that had quality workmanship, as well as having an eye for well designed pieces..It was told to me that she purchased them around 25 + years ago,so they are not too too old..

THE EARRINGS:

Lengthy is size, but delicately designed, these are made in a 'waterfall' design. The well matched cuts of coral hang in a 3 row drop that's designed with 3 tiers per drop, which allow them to sway with movement. The coral cabs are secured in their sawtooth-serrated bezels. The coral has characteristics inherit to coral,so you'll see lines, holes, etc.which are normal to see with coral.

Because of the gauge used,as well as the design, these are perfect for the woman who loves Native American jewelry, but can't bare the size & weight that many have..These are very wearable while offering a classy contemporary look of the southwest. (See weights below) The sterling has a brushed satin finishing.

**FYI***:

Anyone in this business knows how much the price of Coral has climbed to & has gotten so ridiculously expensive, which makes it unaffordable for many artists to even consider buying. Coral's cost has skyrocketed up to 500% in the last three years & compared to 3 years ago when it was at about $250 a gram, it is now at $1000 a gram! Because of human disturbance, based on overfishing and climate change, has unfortunately left the sea’s slow-growing red coral population in a state of decimation. Like gold,Coral is becoming an 'investment' gem & is now on the "Rare" list that can no longer can it be fished, nor brought in the USA. Everyday the price goes up just like real estate & will never be the price tomorrow, as it is today. It has become extremely collectible.
