These “Palomas y Flores” (Doves and Flowers) earrings are considered the ultimate Oaxaca (and/or) Mexican wedding earring for good reason, these earrings carry deep cultural and ceremonial meaning. In Oaxaca, doves are especially revered, since they symbolize peace, love, and spiritual renewal, with significance rooted in both indigenous (including Aztec) traditions and broader religious and colonial-era religious and cultural symbolism. Doves are also associated with fertility and the spirit, often regarded as divine messengers or even the souls of the departed. Worn at weddings and other important life events, these earrings are not only beautiful earrings, but meaningful tokens of heritage, belief, and continuity between past and present.

Made by skilled hands, these are totally hand fabricated from scratch, from all the detailing you see in the sterling, to the meticulous detailing in the doves that give them their feather separation, etc.. to the precisely wrapped filigree wire follows along the crescent form & acts as the anchor for the turquoise dangles to hold onto. By adding the turquoise, really brings them up a notch & adds all that Santa Fe’an charm to the design!

These are a ‘mirrored” style earring where there’s an actual left/right side & they are meant to be worn with the dove’s beak facing toward the face.
