Outrageously beautiful, these pieces put the spotlight squarely on Oaxaca and the fabulous jewelry that is intrinsic to the region.
Made for Federico by the hands of one of his master Oaxaca artisan friends, who makes filigree look effortless, they are in fact the result of many time-consuming steps. Earrings like these deserve our appreciation for the filigree art carefully passed down from one generation to the next.
Considered the ultimate Oaxaca (and/or) Mexican earring for good reason, these pieces carry deep cultural meaning. In Oaxaca, doves are especially revered: they symbolize peace, love, and spiritual renewal, with significance rooted in both indigenous (including Aztec) traditions and broader religious and cultural symbolism. Doves are associated with fertility and the spirit, often regarded as divine messengers or the souls of the departed, making these earrings not only beautiful adornments but also meaningful tokens of heritage and belief.
They are designed in a very noticeable, traditional Oaxaca style, where the spotlight falls on the large, circular drop. Like a circle of “Infinity”, this precisely made drop is entirely made by hand, with a circular perimeter wire enclosing 4 filigree curved floral motifs; tiny palomas (doves) fly between the flowers and trace the circular pattern. Each wire is individually cut and carefully curved by hand to form these floral designs. The outer perimeter is finished with filigree loops that serve as anchors, giving secure points for the green turquoise dangles to be attached.
They are super sexy on the ear & can be worn with just about anything you have in your wardrobe! Would also put the icing on the cake when you pair them with any beautifully made Mexican embroidered wardrobe!!
