THE EARRINGS

These are the epitome when we think of a true statement size earring that are not only huge in size, but have all the charm of Santa Fe! The Spiny Oyster earrings are the only ones made in a 4" length, while both the Lapis and the Baroque Pearl versions measure 4-1/8” long. Trust me, these are certainly large enough to command the attention you deserve — and quite possibly stopping traffic and turning a few heads along the way!
They are designed in a double-cross design, featuring a 7/8" square cross at the top that anchors the larger 2" cross below. (Measurements exclude the dangles.) The arrangement of materials creates a subtle "cross within a cross" effect. Each cross is “Free Hand”-cut without a template, which underscores their hand-fabricated authenticity. Textured stamping traces the perimeter of the sterling, and both the top and bottom crosses are gently domed instead of lying completely flat.
What I love, are the HUGE cascabel domed teardrop-shaped dangles that are 7/8” long, each one large enough that some could serve as a statement earring on its own. If you follow vintage Mexican jewelry, these dangles evoke the cascabel dangles of the Mexican Silver Renaissance days from the mid-century era. It’s not just the size that makes them striking — the dangles are nicely chunky and really complete the overall design. Each dangle is backed in sterling. (See photo)
IMPORTANT: POST EARRING WEIGHT:
They are made with a generous amount of heavy-gauge sterling silver, so PLEASE be aware of this before purchasing, as they are quite substantial in weight. The clip-on style poses no problem because the weight does not rest on the earlobe, but the post earrings are noticeably heavy and may feel weighty during extended wear. (Read post earring weights below)
