Art comes in a variety of facets & in jewelry, there is such a wide spectrum as to what an artist decides to use as their signature style. Some work in nothing but stone, while other's only do cluster stone work, while others show their artistic side without the use of stone & work only with sterling.These of course are the latter.
What I love about these, is they are made as if a picture was being painted, by using something so plain as sheet silver that was then used to create these beautiful works of "wearable art for the ears"! Not only are these artistically created, but have a very romantic aesthetic that seems to dominate Oaxaca jewelry designs.
Anchored from a 3/4" round floral top are the plump sized Palomas, that started out as sheet sterling that was 1st drawn out, then cut by hand. Using a gauge of sterling strong enough to withstand all the stamp work, these were tooled throughout the wings & tail.. But they are not just stamped with a bunch of little lines & circles! If you zoom in on the photos you'll see an actual design of flowers stamped in there!
Considered the ultimate Mexican wedding earring, but are definitely not limited to! These will make you feel special anytime, any day, anywhere!! They also would complete the look when paired with any beautifully embroidered Oaxacan clothing!!
