A PERSONAL WORD:
If you're like me that loves the beauty of not only what an artisans hands can create, but also the wondrous beauty of Oaxaca made jewelry, then no doubt, you will probably see the beauty in these, as I do! There is just something so appealing to the eye about these, that even I want to keep all I have in stock !! But all joking aside, I say, maybe it's their centuries old traditional Oaxaca look that gives them such identity or maybe it's the Spanish/Moors influence that can be seen in these.. There's a number of reasons I can think of, but all I can say when all is said & done, is that they are simply gorgeous & are a well made earring that are made by skilled hands..
Many of us only know Federico for his head turning-eye catching statement turquoise jewelry, but little do people know that before he got involved in Turquoise & every other gemstone known to him, there was the Filigree/Love Bird jewelry that came from his birthplace of Oaxaca that to this day, will always have his name attached. In fact it was he who we can give credit to, for bringing Oaxaca jewelry to a much wider audience & is at times labeled (and for good reason!) his "Frida" line.

DESCRIPTION:
All 3 of these earrings are made the same exact way, measuring the same, etc., the only thing different from one to the next, is the gemstone.
Entirely made BY HAND, the design starts with a small flower top where Federico's artisan hand tooled all the detailing in the larger flower & then has a smaller flower on top where the small beaded gemstone is sewn into the design. Connected to the top, is a hand made "Bow" design that plays a major role to the design. What I love is how the lacy filigree fills in the 4 corners which makes it appear square. The filigree acts as an anchor for the small beaded gemstone dangles that hang off the east/west sides.The bow section also is used for the 3 bead drop.The larger beads on the drop, are decorated by hand made sterling cups (or cones) that are also hand tooled.
Even though all are 3" long,these have a weight your ears will love, while giving you all the beauty known to Oaxaca/Mexican jewelry!
