This mine's color can range from light blue tones to the not so much seen, darker tones..But it's not so much the color when it comes to this mine, as much as it is for it's matrix patterns & the matrix color that makes it that much easier to identify.. In fact, you can kind of skip over the color with this one, since it's more about the matrix that makes it easy to spot & causes it to be high in demand. The matrix with #8 turquoise has a fine webbing and goes from having golden brown,to dark brown, to black fine matrix lines. The mine was closed nearly 50 years ago and is considered some of the finest turquoise ever found and is considered 'highly 'collectible.' It is asked for by name & there are buyers who are thirsty to find just about any jewelry made with it. Because it is dwindling down, has caused it to increase in price & goes for a lot per carat.
