ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Veteran artist Mark Yazzie creates some of the most intricate & balanced jewelry coming out of the Navajo Nation.His clean techniques & attention to detail & testaments to his over 30 years of mastering the many traditional & contemporary silversmithing skills evident in his work.

Born in Fort Defiance, AZ. & raised in the reservation community of wild ruins. Back in the mid-70's as Native jewelry began a resurgence in worldwide attention & popularity, Mark begun his silversmithing professionally at the "3 Hogans" near the AZ./NM border. Through the years & eventually moving to Gallup,NM, he crafted probably every type of jewelry in the Navajo tradition, like Squash Blossom necklaces, concho belts, story teller bracelets, earrings & rings.

Thousands of beautiful silver pieces & 100's of pieces of turquoise later, his creative talents now bring us masterfully hewn jewelry,resplendent designs with high grade stones. His designs in sterling,gold,copper & stone are collected by a worldwide fan base who are always eager to get their hands on just about anything this incredible artist creates!

THE CUFF/DESIGN:
Having been honored to have carried many of Mark's pieces,I have to admit that although each were just as fantastic as the other, this cuff is just another excellent example of this artist's talents!! I think Mark outdid himself with this piece & has to be one of THE cleanest,most sophisticated looking cuffs I've come across in awhile! It takes a lot to wow me & this cuff definitely makes my mouth water!

The beauty of this piece is that it's simple in design, but yet says so much!! It's made of super heavy gauge 1/2 triangular wire (My guess is 8-10 gauge?) that is beautifully tooled from end to end & with each line you see stamped in the sterling,is impressively precise from one side of the triangle to the other!! This technique takes a steady hand,good dexterity & a mathematical sense to do! And as you can see, they are perfect! This right here, is a sign of a skilled master artist. Showcased beautifully while perfectly balanced, is 3.2 mm mirror polished thick plate that holds a premium cut of Carico Lake turquoise that is lime green in color.

Simple enough to satisfy any man's tastes in jewelry,but would look just as hot on any woman's wrist! This is one classy cuff that has "High-End Quality" written all over it!! It's a real keeper! And even though made by a traditional Navajo artist,but because of it's contemporary design, this can easily be worn in OR out of the southwest & will easily pair with a traditional or non traditional collection of jewelry!
