THE ARTIST:
Sharing both Navajo and Zuni bloodlines, Albert Jake is a deeply passionate, widely recognized, and highly skilled jeweler who masterfully combines the perfect marriage of top-notch quality materials with his impeccable workmanship. Dedicating himself to his art by working five out of seven days each week, Al creates both traditional and contemporary Navajo jewelry, skillfully working in both gold and sterling silver.

Born on the Zuni Pueblo in 1959 and now residing in Albuquerque, Al is certainly no novice when it comes to silversmithing. Achieving this level of expertise doesn’t happen overnight or in just a few months; it takes years of repetition, patience, and relentless dedication to perfect his art. His extraordinary attention to detail and remarkable eye for form and balance set him apart as an artist who raises the bar consistently. He is by no means your "average, everyday" jeweler—his work reflects true mastery and a deep cultural connection.

THE TURQUOISE:

These rectangular/square-shaped cuts of Kazakhstan Turquoise (Golden Hills) possess all the distinctive attributes that collectors and enthusiasts look for in this particular turquoise variety, making them some of the most sought-after pieces in today’s competitive turquoise market. When assessing quality, the primary factor often considered is the color. Specifically, when it comes to turquoise, the depth and vibrancy of color play a crucial role in determining its overall value and appeal. Turquoise from most mines varies widely, encompassing stones that range from having the richest, deepest hues to those exhibiting very faint or minimal coloration. With that in mind, the Kazakhstan turquoise featured in this stunning cuff bracelet showcases an exceptional richness and depth of color that is highly prized by buyers. It radiates the true and unmistakable “Periwinkle” shade, characterized by rich, dark tones of lavender that create a breathtaking contrast when paired with lighter blue areas. These cuts further reveal their unique red/brown brick matrix patterns—an identifying hallmark of this specific mine—adding a layer of natural artistry to each stone. Much like a fingerprint, each cut is truly one of a kind, boasting its own individual characteristics that make it uniquely beautiful and irreplaceable.

THE FINISHING:

Emulating a look as if naturally aged over time, the sterling is SO beautifully oxidized, yet it maintains just the perfect amount of lightness that truly elevates this finishing to a whole new level! I have some of my absolute favorite artists when it comes to understanding precisely where and how much oxidation to leave, and Al is one who ranks extremely high with me for mastering this delicate technique. It takes just as much skill and artistry to know exactly how to achieve this balance as it does to create a finely made piece of jewelry itself. Having this expert skill not only brings out the inherent beauty and character of the sterling silver but also perfectly accentuates any colored stones or intricate deep stamp work that may be present, enhancing the piece’s overall visual impact and uniqueness.

SIZING:

This piece is designed for a slightly larger wrist size of approximately 7 inches, but specifically for wrists that have a bit more "flesh" or fullness, as the gap has an opening of about 1-1/4 inches. A wider gap is generally more comfortable for someone with a meatier wrist, while a smaller gap tends to suit skinnier wrists better. To determine if this gap opening is right for you, you can measure the gap on a cuff that fits you well and compare it to this one. If you find that it needs to be adjusted, I recommend taking it to a reputable jeweler who can make those modifications, as I do not offer adjustment services myself. Please keep in mind that any adjustment will only change the size of the gap opening and will not alter the interior circumference of 5-3/4 inches.

So please know your wrist size before purchasing, since cuffs fit different than any other type bracelet & it is of extreme importance they fit right! If you're not sure or have never measured yourself, please don't hesitate to contact me so I can possibly help.!! For more info on cuff fitting, please click on this link to see if this will fit:  How To Fit A Cuff I also recommend you copy & paste the You Tube link I have there, which covers the right way of putting a cuff on & explains things I don’t.

PRICING IS BASED ON:

Artist recognition, sterling cost, the artist’s time, the turquoise quality, the cost per carat for better quality turquoise and the amount of carats are all reflected in price.
