The advantages by using pure silver is for 1: the quality of the metal (which is not mixed with any thing that would make it seem watered down). And 2: it doesn't tarnish nor get those ugly yellow tones like sterling does because it does not have any copper in it like Sterling does so therefore you don't have to polish it.
