ABOUT SONORAN TURQUOISE:

Sonoran is unique for it's wide variety of colors that it produces,as well as a wide range of matrix patterns & colors..Very similar to Nevada's Royston mine,it produces both green's & blue's.

These particular cuts are some of the best quality coming out of the mine & have an unmatched intensity where the green is so green & heavily saturated ..If you love green turquoise over blue,you will LOVE the color of these cuts!!!

THE BOLO:

I have to admit that anything that Leon makes, has everything we look for when it comes to 'finer' Navajo jewelry..At it now for decades,this artist comes from an era where you are guaranteed to get a piece that will be made with the highest grade/quality stones available to the market & that stays in balance with his phenomenal heavy gauge metal work! This western bolo is the perfect example of this & 'oozes' a undeniable traditional Navajo feel.

Made of super heavy 8 gauge sterling,Leon used 4 different stamps to create this artistically created concho. By tooling each pattern side by side, they seem to take on their own design! Pounding through metal this heavy & to be this accurate with every strike,is truly impressive, when you figure how each stamp has to be in the right spot in the metal & if the artist is off in any way, the whole design is a mess.

The domed concho slips through a hefty 9 mm round black braided leather strap & the design is finalized with 2-3/4" long sterling tips that have a sterling bead on the tip. The leather is threaded though loops on the backside that allow it to adjust..(See photo 8) The Concho's finishing is what is called a "Vintage Revival" finishing & the oxidation is left deep within the stampwork to accentuate the design.

Being a cowboy himself, you won't find a better artist than Leon, who instinctively knows what men want!
