In Native American culture it is common for children seeing their elder family members making jewelry,to begin making it as well. This was Gilbertina's life, being a child in To'hajiilee, where she was taught by her iconic father"Gilbert Secatero",who also taught her brother,Philbert, who went on to be a known artist in the industry. He taught them both technique & what each tool was for & those tools became like "magic wands"..She went on to decorate the 'raindrops' for his jewelry..Then for month's,he had her do all his bezels for his tiny stones that went into his pieces, until one day he said"I prefer your bezels to my own!"But move on a dozen or more years later, she is most recognized for her beautiful multi stone cluster work, with perfect silver "raindrops" & each stone fitting in a perfect bezel! She resides in Albuquerque &her father is her continual inspiration.
