FEDERICO JIMENEZ Mazahua Citrine Dove Filigree 925 Crescent Shape Earrings

325.00 360.00

Inspired by the jewelry designs that came out of the Mazahua (maza-wa) area of Mexico, is a area that happened to give birth to many wonderful artisans & were originally influenced by the Spanish Conquest of Mexico of the 1500's.When the Spanish woman arrived in Mexico, they brought many jewelry styles, with the crescent shape(arracada) being one. This style shown that Federico brings us,is a style of the past & is as strong of design,as it was centuries ago..It will probably exist to the end of time, because it is one of the prettiest!

This design starts with a double flower, but of 2 different designs & which helps to extend it's length.Anchored to the citrine set flower,is a crescent shape, with a hand fabricated dove perched at the top & the crescent is filled with stamping that follows itself around the citrine cabochons & all along it's perimeter.Filigree wire gives these a lacy sort of look & is the support for the citrine dangles..

These earrings are one of Federico's more popular, since they have a very wearable weight & have all the beautiful charm of a Mexican earring!
